What does the stamp “secret Reich matter!” (Geheime Reichssache!) mean?

The letter is prepared and stamped in Section IV B4 as a “secret Reich matter”, which is indicated by the abbreviation “gRs”.

For the German Reich authorities, “secret Reich matter” denotes the highest level of secrecy. Such documents are usually delivered by courier. Entrusted with secret information, the recipient has a duty of confidentiality and must keep the letter in a very secure location.
